Violin:

My experiences

As a violinist I am very active. I enjoy playing with orchestras, including the Oost-Gelders Symfonieorkest in Doetichem and the Antonio Ensemble in Zutphen (as concertmaster). I also like to play chamber music, including since 2025 in 'Trio dell'Anima', a new piano trio with fellow conservatory students Arnette van Beek (cello) and William van den Burg (piano/composition). Besides this I also participate in many projects in the region.

At the age of six I started playing violin with Jaap van Elst. Through his string ensembles I rose to the Antonio Ensemble where I gained a lot of experience in ensemble playing and the last three years as concertmaster. Together with Jaap I have also undertaken various projects and also gained my first experiences in teaching.

In 2024 I joined the Oost-Gelders Symfonieorkest conducted by Alexander Geluk in Doetichem. Here I became acquainted with the great symphonic works. I have gained a lot of repertoire knowledge here. Playing in a symphony orchestra is one of the most rewarding things about playing the violin for me. A few other orchestras I have played with are the Free Music Orchestra conducted by Jaap van Elst, Apeldoorns Jeugdorkest conducted by Rob Kaptein and the Britten Jeugd Strijkorkest conducted by Loes Visser.

Since 2025 I have been taking lessons from Maria-Paula Majoor at the ArtEZ conservatory in Zwolle. With her I further develop myself as a violinist and I work on refining and deepening my technical level.

Projecten

Here are a few noteworthy projects that I have participated in in recent years. I would like to mention the collaborative projects of the Ciconia Consort from The Hague. This special professional string orchestra conducted by Dick van Gasteren organises projects with advanced amateurs who take part in workshops from members and are then allowed to play in their program. Performing among these fantastic professional musicians is incredibly inspiring and one of the reasons why I chose the path of musician.

Another project is the Steengroevetheater in Winterswijk, an open-air music theatre production with its own metropolitan orchestra conducted by Gerben Kruisselbrink. This fantastic spectacle in August is a special combination of theater, show and music.

Also worth mentioning is the Jeugd Muziekdag Enchede, with André Kuipers as guest speaker in 2025 with an orchestra of more than 150 young musicians.
